Joe Campo

In 1956, Joe "the Gov" Campo came to the small town of Frankfort, NY. The school was too small to be in any league, but not for long. "The Gov" transformed the school into an athletic powerhouse in both wrestling and football.

Joe started wrestling programs at three different schools in upstate New York.

His overall record is 453-38. His teams won 20 league championships and three Section III Championships.

He coached nine New York State Champions and twenty seven state place finishers.

His is a member of the Suffolk County (Section 11) Hall of Fame from hes years of coaching at Brentwood. He is also a member of the New York State Wrestling Hall of Fame (1987) and the National Wrestling Hall of Fame (1995).
