Larry Rector is the former Director of Ahtletics and Physical Educatio nat Mexico Academy after 38 years as a teacher and coach at Mexico and Adams Center.
He was instrumental in organizing the Frontier and Oswego County Leagues for wrestling. He was the first wrestling coach in Oswego County, starting a wrestling program at Mexico in 1956.
Larry was also instrumental in forming the Watertown Officals Chapter and is a charter member of the Syracuse Wrestling Officials Association.
Larry has served on the Section III Wrestling Committee continually for 35 years. He was chairman of the committee for six years and was also chairman of the Hall of Fame Committee.
He was elected to the New York State Wrestling Hall of Fame in 1982 and had the honor of having the wrestling room at Mexico Central School named after him.
